Fishdexia is a personal fishing log that turns photos of your catches into stickers swimming in a virtual aquarium. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. The short version: your catches belong to you, we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't sell data, and we don't show ads.
What we collect
- Account. You sign in with Sign in with Apple. We store your Apple user identifier, your display name, and the email Apple shares (which may be a private relay address). We use these only to operate your account.
- Catch data. The photos you add, the stickers generated from them, and details you enter (species, size, weight, date, notes, and — only if you attach one — the catch location).
- Purchases. Subscription and purchase status is processed by Apple and RevenueCat. We never see your payment details.
- Usage counters. How many AI sticker generations you have used, so we can meter the free tier fairly.
We do not collect advertising identifiers, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or rent any personal data.
How photos are processed
Sticker cut-outs happen on your device by default. If AI refinement runs, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to Google's Gemini API to produce the refined sticker. The photo is used only to generate your sticker and is not used to train models on our behalf. Google's handling of API data is described in Google's Gemini API terms.
Where your data lives
Your catch log is stored on your device first, and synced to our backend (hosted on Supabase) so you can restore it and share with friends. Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Access to your rows is enforced by row-level security: other users can see only what you explicitly share.
Sharing between anglers
- Friends. If you add a friend, they can view your aquarium and achievements. Catch locations are always hidden from friends.
- Community map. A catch appears to other users only when you turn on spot sharing for that specific catch. You can turn it off at any time.
Service providers
We use a small number of processors, strictly to run the app: Apple (sign-in and payments), Supabase (database, storage, and functions), RevenueCat (subscription management), and Google Gemini (AI image refinement). Each receives only the data needed for its role.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual catches at any time. Deleting a catch removes it from sync and from anything you had shared. To delete your entire account, use Settings → Delete Account in the app — this permanently removes your account, catches, photos, and profile from our servers. If you need help, email us instead.
Children
Fishdexia is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and the date above.
